Gaining and maintaining independence requires learning important life skills. Many people with disabilities receive such skills training through the Independent Living Skills (ILS) program. Typical program candidates are individuals leaving rehabilitation centers, nursing facilities or family homes.

Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, EIH's Intermediate Care Facility for Other Related Conditions (ICF/ORC) (Lakeland House) provides health and rehabilitation services to people having "other related conditions". The facility can accommodate up to six residents at a time.
